This is a bushing for passing a 1/4 shaft through a panel. It consists of two parts, one made of Delrin, the second is an aluminum locking collar. Maximum panel thickness is 3/16, there is no minimum. This item requires a 3/8 (0.375) hole. In typical use, the plastic portion is placed through the hole in the panel, usually from the front of the panel, and then the collar is installed from the opposite side of the panel, and held in place with a setscrew, which requires a 1/16 hex wrench for tightening. It provides both a long-wearing low friction bearing surface for the shaft and insulates the shaft from the panel, although we have no guaranteed voltage breakdown rating for this part. If you need a specific breakdown voltage, please email me with info and we can meet your needs. Uses include ham radio construction projects like tuners and amplifiers, motion control, or anywhere a shaft must pass through a panel and be precisely located. Note: current production units are a little longer than those shown in the picture. The Delrin portion extends approx. 1/2 from the front of the panel. If it's a little long for your application, it can be easily cut down.
